Rakay’s path to becoming an attorney was not traditional. As a first-generation college and law school graduate, she built her career through determination, discipline, and a commitment to creating a different future. Her background gives her a unique perspective and an ability to connect with clients from all walks of life—particularly those navigating difficult circumstances.

Before joining Collins Rupp, P.C., Rakay served as a public defender with Salt Lake Legal Defenders, where she handled a high-volume caseload of complex criminal matters. She has extensive experience working with individuals facing serious charges, including those struggling with mental health issues, addiction, and unstable living conditions. This experience has shaped her into a pragmatic, compassionate, and effective advocate.

Rakay knew from a young age that she wanted to be a criminal defense attorney. Today, she brings that long-standing commitment to every case, working passionately to protect her clients’ rights and guide them through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
